- Prem Norbu Thungan was highly inspired by Jagriti Yatra in 1997. According to him that Yatra connected villages and awakened people about their culture and tradition. The programmes during the Yatra were not confined to mere lectures but were full of patriotic songs, dramas and street-plays that created interest among the people and touched their hearts. As a result he was eager to join this movement and now he is an active karyakarta of Swadhyaya Varga at Pasighat.
- Api, a fulltime Karyakarta, had the responsibility of Pasighat Nagar on her shoulder. She had to meet a well-wisher for the finalization of Solung Greeting Card. But she was unable to meet him due to his tight schedule. She became frustrated and annoyed. But she remembered the story of Sri Krishna and Bhima: Once Bhima lost a fight with an Asura because of his impatience, but Sri Krishna defeated the Asura with infinite patience. She realized the need of patience and waited a little more time. Finally she could meet him and settle everything satisfactorily.
- Sri Lekandu Thungan, another ex. V.K.V. student and Circle Officer of Wakka of Tirap district a very dedicated and sincere officer. Wakka is a very remote and sensitive place. Terrorists from Myanmar take shelter there; extortion and rampage were common events. No official tried to curb these. But last 15th August, Shri. Thungan hoisted the National Flag for the first time at Wakka. After that, the scenario changed. Now the people of Wakka are fearless and they are coming back to the national mainstream.
- The Reproductive and Child Health Care (RCH) programme was to be organized in different villages of Tirap. As a precursor, and RCH Training Programme of the Svasthya Rakshaks was held in Tinsukia. Raju Bhaiyya, Zilla Sanghatak therefore, invited Dr. Matey, VKV –ian and active Karyakarta of Vivekananda Kedra, to conduct the sessions. Inspite of his wife’s illness, after making necessary arrangements for her care, he came over to Tinsukia. The camp routine include waking up by 4.30a.m., prayers, Yogaabhyas, lectures, discussions, games ect. When asked, “By coming here, I am re-living my VKV life. Due to lack of proper care, both mothers and children suffer. If our Svyasthya Rakshaks are clear about what they have to do, they can create awareness in the villages. Thus since it is our commitment to have healthier society this programme was priority.”
